‘The Middle’: Cast Inspired by Reality
When the three Heck children exclaim Netface! Their utterance is not a joke, it is more of a depiction of father Mike’s style of volleyball but when they uttered it during the recording of a scene from a future Mother’s Day episode of The Middle, the actors and crew could not help but laugh.

This is just how the Everybody Loves Raymond star, Patricia Heaton, who portrays mother Frankie, loves it. She was quoted as saying that the show is centered on what happens in real life, adding that just like Raymond, it is not a humorous show as such. She further stated that though many shows are based on punch lines, this one tries to discover the funny side of circumstances and characters.
The crew and cast got together during a time off in recording to talk about the second season comedy, whose audience has risen by twenty four percent above that of season one.
This will mark the second Mother’s Day show. The actors and crew usually play off celebrations in episodes. They assert that it helps the show to connect better with what fans go through.
Heaton, who has four boys, knows how difficult it is to balance job and family. Frankie will take time off in the upcoming Mother’s Day episode so as to be by herself. But as Dad Mike and the children go out there and get some real fun, Frankie feels she is missing out.
“This is how it usually feels, if your children are not with you, you will be longing to be with them, and when they are around, you begin to think of having some time to yourself”, Heat stated.
As far as Flynn is concerned, Mike is grounded though Flynn can think of no better way to describe Mike who is hardly pensive.
